Unfortunately, sometimes the only way to manage challenging behaviour is to use physical intervention skills. These must always be a last resort and should only be used when all other strategies have failed. PAMOVA Cymru delivers training in the safe use and implementation of these physical skills. All techniques taught are fully risk assessed and are delivered in a safe and monitored environment by highly qualified tutors. The techniques taught are designed to give staff the capability to hold safely using the minimum amount of physical holding required to make a situation safe. No technique relies on pain compliance to be effective and the entire curriculum is accredited by several organisations including the General Services Association (GSA), British Institute of Learning Disabilities (BILD) and Highfield Awarding Body for Compliance (HABC), to ensure external verification of quality and appropriateness.
